The Action for Health and Employment’s Access Development (AHEAD) Immigrants Civic Engagement Program is dedicated to supporting immigrants as they navigate their new communities and become active participants in civic life. The program focuses on fostering civic involvement, promoting understanding of local systems, and empowering immigrants to engage in community and political processes.
Objectives
Promote Civic Participation:
Encourage immigrants to participate in local civic activities, including voting, community meetings, and public forums.
Provide information and resources to help immigrants understand their rights and responsibilities as residents.
Enhance Understanding of Local Systems:
Educate immigrants about local government structures, services, and community resources.
Provide guidance on how to access and utilize public services effectively.
Support Community Integration:
Facilitate opportunities for immigrants to connect with local organizations, community groups, and residents.
